Volunteer Your Time
BUG Program: A Kiwanis International
program designed to acknowledge students that “Bring Up Grades.” We have started this program at Alta Vista School
in 2007-2008.
Arrowhead
Walk-a-Thon: North Phoenix Kiwanis' main fundraiser held each October. This event attracts a full
field of walkers and raised over $17,000 last year that we distribute to the charities we support within our foundation.
Thanksgiving Turkey Trot: A long-time community service activity dating back to 1978. Initially
this program provided food to Alhambra Head Start Program families, now it provided full Thanksgiving meals to low income
families (with children) at Alta Vista School.
Christmas Party – Alta Vista School: A long-time community service activity held in December. We provide wrapped gifts to in
need children in low income families at Alta Vista School.
Special Olympics: Held each March, North Phoenix Kiwanis volunteers assist with running events and activities for physically and
mentally handicapped children throughout the day.
